It's A Birth Right

There comes a time in, whether we like it or not, status plays a major role in our lives. How to keep up with the certain fashion trends, how to act during a social setting, what do you own, what are you known for, how do YOU fit in with SOCIETY? Sometimes, the cards play right, and other times, life seems straight uhn.fair. Sometimes, people just seem to have it all. It's their birth right, right? What if doubles were seen in society, as power and beauty? Celebrities hold this glamorous identity in a way that no one can deny.
Doppelgangers hold a certain bad stigma for some reason in literature and films. They are apparently the harbinger of bad luck, often seen as characters who are completely opposites of their doubles. Think about having a non-related twin. Would you try to compete with them in everything? However, in the real world, the concept of looking alike is actually more beneficial and popular than one would think.
Hollywood is known for the pretty people. Think of Megan Fox, Kendall Jenner, Sophia Richie, and all of the beautiful icons out for the media to worship. What do they all have in common? A certain look. Doubles upon doubles as you will. Big eyes, pursed lips, small noses, and a prize winning smile. Or guys who are tan, tall, and built, with a careless smirk. Perhaps, this 1% of the population is designed to a particular look in a vast world of diversity, in order to separate the elitist from the normal, average joe.
How does this change the positions in which people are in? Oh, it changes everything. People have a bad tendency to fit into whatever current fad is in, and if they don't, they reach to obtain money that can buy their way in. Yes, there are the handful that make up their own lifestyle, their own fashion, in order to be "individualistic" or "different." However, purposely trying to be special in one's own way, also crept up to be a current trend. Often times, people try hard to look like they aren't trying at all. With a world filled of carbon copies, it's hard to tell what's genuine, and what's an act in order to achieve the ending goal that everyone seems to want nowadays.
Inner reflection is a real thing, and a good thing. Are you a double? You might be, without even realizing it. How do you want others to perceive you, and what are you trying to put out there? Is it better to be happy knowing you fit in, or are you wanting to be a truly authentic *insert your name*. It's a choice we all have to make, and an identity that we all cease to understand. But the choice is also backed up by free will, allowing one to further determine if she/he is okay with whatever identity he/she assumes. Doubles are everywhere within society.
